URGENT ACTION needed on VA proposal that can impact the future scope of practice for all NPs

Posted almost 8 years ago by Cheryl Brandi

Please take a few moments to support the VA proposal to expand veterans' access to quality health care, which would authorize NPs and other ARNPs working within the scope of VA employment to provide health services without the state mandates requiring MD oversight.

Opponents of this policy have strongly voiced their opposition so it is imperative that NPs across the nation have an opportunity to provide comment until the 60-day comment period concludes on July 25th. Florida NPs, in particular, have much to gain by supporting their VA colleagues in this endeavor.

You have two options that will only take a few moments of your time:

Option 1: GO to AANP website and send an email that has been drafted for you:

Click on "Take Action" tab
Add Email address, signature and zip code to AANP email message and hit "continue" to send your message.
Option 2: Go to the Federal Register and write your personal letter: https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2016/05/25/2016-12338/advanced-practice-registered-nurses
