Controlled Substances Bill Filed

Posted about 9 years ago by Mandi Nehring

It is with great excitement to announce to you that a bill has been filed in the Florida Senate to extend the authority to prescribe controlled substances to Florida PAs and ARNPs!!

Senate Bill 614 was filed by Senator Denise Grimsley.

Now begins the real work.  FAPA will continue to fight hard behind the scenes to get this bill passed, but we need YOUR help.  Without your help, it will be extremely difficult to get this bill passed, as it has opposition.

We need every single ARN, PA, along with your friends, family, and anyone else who wants enhanced access to health care, and more efficient health care, to contact their local State Representative and Senator, and ask them to support this bill.  I would encourage you to have them call, email, and write (snail mail) in support of this bill.  Include your Florida home address, so that the representative knows you are a constituent. The letter or statement could be as simple as:

"Please support improved access to health care for the millions of Florida's citizens and visitors.  Please support Senate Bill 614 and allow my PA and ARNP to provide me with the most comprehensive health care possible."

Go to this website to find your local State Representative and Senator and please contact them, and have as many people as you know do the same: http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/Representatives/myrepresentative.aspx

Sincerely,

Nelson Anthony Guzman, DHSc, PA-C
